California’s economy, environment, and public health depend on one critical system: water infrastructure. From aging pipelines and dams to treatment plants and flood control systems, California’s water-related infrastructure is under increasing strain.

Water quality directly impacts agricultural productivity, crop health, and soil sustainability. As farming operations increasingly depend on irrigation systems, contaminants such as pesticides, herbicides, chlorine, and organic pollutants in water sources pose serious challenges.
