In areas where there is substantial annual rainfall, reconditioning that water and using it for cooling water make-up, firefighting, wash down, landscape irrigation, or other non-potable purposes can reduce the cost of purchasing water and drop dollars to the bottom line.

When one of the goals of treating water is to reduce the concentration of particles (called suspended solids), several different types of filters can be effective…but they will not all be equally effective under all circumstances.
