FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions For Everfilt Centrifugal Sand Separators

Why Choose an Everfilt® Centrifugal Sand Separator?

Centrifugal sand separators are typically used as a preventive measure to protect expensive downstream equipment from overloading with sand, silt, or debris, causing premature wear and tear. Older wells with sand or silt present, or older piping and casing deteriorating, can be easily removed with a sand separator. Cost-effective and low maintenance requirements make the Everfilt® S1-Series Sand Separators product line a simple solution for applications where silt and sand are present in source water.

1. Do You Have a Support Stand or Mount?

Yes, Everfilt® offers both options: a wall support and a free-standing tripod design, built to accommodate multiple scenarios and applications.

2. Do Units Only Come in Manual Flush?

No, Everfilt® offers both manual and automatic flushing options on all units.

3. Planning for Alternating Flow Rates Over Time?

Everfilt® manifold options allow multiple units to run together when the flow is high. When the flow decreases, individual units can be isolated using ISO valves. This makes it easy to adjust capacity up or down as needed for consistent performance year-round.

4. How Should I Size My Sand Separator?

Size it based on operating pressure and flow rate. If pressure is near the maximum PSI rating, select a unit closer to the minimum GPM. If pressure is near the minimum PSI rating, choose a unit closer to the maximum GPM. This helps ensure better performance and longer equipment life.
